participate in
World Polio Day Celebrations
The Indian National Polio Plus Committee along with District 3012 & 3011 organised a major awareness program to Keep
India Polio Free on the occasion of World Polio Day in this Centennial year of Rotary Foundation.
The students of the Interact Club of DAV Dwarka participated in the World Polio Celebrations at the Hindu College, University
of Delhi on 24th October 2016. C K Mishra-Secretary, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, was the Chief Guest for the event.
The mega event was attended by Past Rotary International President Raja Saboo and Trustee PRID Sushil Gupta.
Highlight of the event was the formation of human letters displaying POLIO FREE INDIA in the colors of India through
participation of more than 6000 school students giving it massive youth support and spreading the message through visual
publicity across the world. This event was to redeem Rotary’s pledge for Polio free India and sensitise the youth to spread the
message of continuous fight against this disease.
Various leaders from the Rotary International and health ministry of India shared their thoughts. District Governor Sharat Jain
extended vote of thanks to the guests and the students for their zealous participation in making the programme a great
success. The participants received the certificate from Indian National Polio Plus Committee for their contribution and
support.
