Consciously or unconsciously, every one of us does render some service
or other. If we cultivate the habit of doing this service deliberately, our
desire for service will steadily grow stronger, and will make, not only our own
happiness, but that of the world at large.

Community service plays a
pivotal role in building a better and stronger society. Following the guiding
principles of the club of building goodwill and friendships the members of the
Interact Club of DAV Dwarka celebrated 31st
December 2015,the New Year Eve in a humane way by inviting 30 girls of orphanage –Udaan- Rose Home run by Salaam
Balak Trust. The day commenced with a ‘Hawan’ performed by the Interact Club
Students, the students of Arya Yuva Samaj and the girls.
Being a Microsoft Showcase School,
the school decided to initiate a digital training program on the same day, as a
special effort to empower the girls with 21st century skills, so as
to enable them to lead their lives with dignity and decency. They were given the
first session of the IT Training by the Microsoft Innovative Experts under
which they were introduced with various tips and tricks to use MS Word.
In an effort to make the day
special, the members of the interact Club conducted a number of fun games like
Lemon Spoon Race, Tug of War, Inflating the balloon, Relay race, balancing the
act for the girls, wherein all of them participated enthusiastically. T It was
then followed by a delicious lunch organized by the members of the Heritage
Club of the school. The Interactors gifted them toys. The coordinator of the
club presented prizes to the winners of races in different categories. A wide
range of medicines and hygiene care products were also donated. All donation
was done with the money received from the students of the club and the teachers
of the school.
The gleaming faces of the
girls, sparkle of happiness in their eyes was the best way for the students of
DAV Dwarka to welcome the new year and kickstart another year looking forward
to fill others’ lives with hope and happiness. Principal Monika Mehan blessed
and motivated the girls. She applauded the efforts of the Interact Club and inspired
the students to continue the noble task of community service.
