Students of the Interact Club donate Woolens
at
Don Bosco Orphanage for Girls
Keeping up the spirit of ‘Service to Humanity’, the Interactors of M.L. Khanna D.A.V. Public School, Dwarka, recently visited 'Auxilium Snehalaya' Don Bosco Orphanage for Girls as a part of ‘World Interact Week’ celebrations. The students exhibited their compassionate and empathetic side by interacting with the girls. They spent a lot of time with them, listening to their songs, jokes and stories. They also discussed their daily routine with them. Interactors presented them woolens to give them warmth in the upcoming winters. Gift packets including stationery items and other items of utility were also presented to the orphaned girls by the interactors. Liquid hand wash bottles were also given to them with the feeling of providing them a hygienic environment. The children looked happy with all the goodies they received. Their smiles were the true gifts that the interactors could receive.
As a prelude to this visit, the students of the Interact Club had initiated a Woolen Collection Drive in the school. Students also collected funds to buy gifts for the girls of the orphanage. They coordinated the entire visit with the mission that the purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be compassionate and to make some difference in others’ lives. The visit gave a new hope to the underprivileged people and learning to all that ‘No one has ever become poor by giving.’ It also helped in invigorating a feeling of empathy and social responsibility in our students towards the less fortunate ones of the society.
