The qualities of being empathetic, caring, loving and helpful make human beings superior to other living beings. So, we must utilize this precious gift of life by serving others. Keeping the same view in mind, the Interactors of M.L. Khanna D.A.V. Public School, Dwarka, took up this task of creating their own Animals and Bird shelters in the school premises. The Interactors created beautiful and attractive homes for stray dogs and cats; and birds.
As one of the World Interact Week activities, a group of Interactors and teachers went to the nearby parks and streets and interviewed the local residents of the area, inquiring about the general problem faced by them due to stray animals. During their interaction with the locals, the students realized that the street animals faced several problems related to food and shelter. So, the Interactors decide to help these innocent beings by providing them homes to live. The Interactors observed and identified strategic areas where they placed Animal and Bird shelters. One, Animal shelter was placed outside the front gate of the school, another one in the adjacent DDA park. A few bird shelters were also place on various trees and boundary walls inside the school and in the neighbourhood park.
