Teacher’s Day

The Interact Club of  M L Khanna DAV Public School, Dwarka celebrated Teacher’s Day on 5th September 2017 with full zeal and enthusiasm to honour the builders of a strong nation. The day started with a special assembly which lent an emotional and recreational touch to the special day. Teachers were given a traditional welcome by the interactors. They greeted the teachers and presented them handmade cards. They did all the preparations with complete energy and excitement.

Students always look forward to Teacher's Day with a lot of anticipation, for the sheer spirit of the occasion. Acting as teachers, students of classes XI and XII got a fair idea of the responsibility, so efficiently handled by their teachers. They felt proud playing their roles and realised the importance of teachers in their lives. Recreational and fun filled games were organised for the teachers by Primary Plus magazine which made the day more entertaining and enjoyable.

Felicitation ceremony was also held to honour the teachers with Nation Builder Award by Rotary International for their notable contribution in the field of education. They were given appreciation letters and certificates.

Special programme was organized by the club in which teachers participated with full zest and zeal. There were some happy and exciting moments where teachers had to identify the songs after listening to “antara”. Teachers also danced to the tunes of foot tapping numbers.Principal Ms. Monika Mehan congratulated the teachers for their sincere and dedicated efforts in the holistic development of the learners. She also applauded the efforts of the Interact Club for organizing a wonderful programme for teachers. The programme culminated with sumptuous lunch for teachers organized by the school.

Funds for Bihar Flood Victims

As one of India’s most flood-prone states, Bihar faces enormous challenges. Excessive rainfall, bursting rivers and breaching embankments have wreaked havoc on the lives of thousands, with the poor usually the worst affected.

Committed to community service, the Interact Club of M L Khanna DAV Public School Dwarka organized a fund collection drive in the school wherein all school children and staff members donated generously for this noble cause. The faculty, staff and students came forward and joined hands to help out the flood affected people of Bihar. An amount of around Rupees 40,000 was collected and sent to the Bihar flood victims. Principal Monika Mehan appreciated the initiative taken by the club and motivated  the students to keep this spirit of brotherhood and humanity alive. She stressed on the point that whenever need arises we should be ready to stand and support.
