The students of the Interact Club of  M L Khanna DAV Public
School Dwarka had a wonderful experience of visiting Godhuli-Senior Citizens Home. Young interactors spent quality time with the senior citizens providing them the much needed warmth and make them feel special. Students saw vivid reflection of their grandparents in their loving eyes, reverberating laughter and wrinkled faces. Students indulged in entertaining the inmates and bringing precious smile on their faces. They presented a melodious song which touched everyone’s heart. A mesmerising Punjabi dance performance by the girls enchanted all. To make their day memorable, interactor Jitesh presented a monologue on transition from youth to old age. The act was appreciated by the elders. Fun and frolic with the senior citizens continued as students made them play Tamblola. Elderlies enthusiastically participated in it. Their excitement to win the game was priceless. Prizes were also given to the winners of the game. The students presented them handmade greeting cards. The glee on the faces of the veterans on reading the warm messages by children was worth seeing. Later, refreshment was also distributed to them. Students also presented gifts to them. Affectionate elders thanked everyone and hoped to see them soon. It was an enriching experience for all the students to interact with the inmates. Being in their company for a few hours, students developed a bond that would be cherished for years to come. Principal Monika Mehan applauded the initiative of the club and motivated the students to show love and respect towards the old people as they play an extremely important role in the society.
