Interact Club of DAV Dwarka organises Environment Protection Week
The Interact Club of DAV Dwarka organised Environment Protection Week to sensitise the students about the degrading environment and the need of planting trees.A plethora of activities was conducted under this drive wherein the club students participated enthusisatically.
Class IX made attractive banners conveying the message
‘Save Trees’. Classes X and XI aesthetically decorated the wall of the
greenhouse by creating images related to nature using bottle caps. The entire
school participated in the flourishing plantation drive wherein herbal plants
were planted in the school.
In continuation with the efforts to preserve biodiversity, a workshop on ‘How to make a Birdhouse’ was conducted by Mr. Rakesh Khatri, Director, NGO, Eco Roots Foundation. Interactors made bird houses and placed them in different areas of the school. Feeders were also kept near the birdhouses to attract the birds. Students enthusiastically participated in the making of the birdhouses. They expressed their concern and volunteered themselves to protect the endangered species. This would be a small step to revive the dwindling population of house sparrows.
Principal Monika Mehan sensitized the students about the reasons of vanishing house sparrows in our ecosystem and how placing birdhouses can play a vital role in bringing the birds back to their home. She applauded zealous participation of the students in the activity.
