Children brought smile on faces of the inmates by singing songs and entertained them by dance performances. They chatted with them and listened to them with great interest. One elderly lady of the old age home also shared the historical importance of the place with the students that it was a home of for the widows and children of the soldiers who took part in the mutiny of 1857 against the British rule.
A 98 year old lady sang two beautiful songs on the request of students. The whole atmosphere was blissful with laughter of the students and elderly ladies together. The students presented handmade Christmas cards with heartwarming messages for the inmates and wished them Merry Christmas by giving them warm hugs, distributing toffees and chocolates.
They also adorned the lawns of the old age home with bells, stars and other decorative items to make them feel happy and special on Christmas. A sumptuous lunch was organized by the school and all the students served the lunch to the ladies with immense love and affection. The showers of blessings by the elderly ladies brought tears to the eyes of some students. The students also presented each lady a box containing a pair of warm socks, gloves, a scarf, a towel and a comb. The inmates blessed the children and wished them success and also thanked for making them feel special. The students too promised them to visit again soon. They were also grateful to the school principal Ms. Monika Mehan for providing them an opportunity to experience the warmth and tenderness of the elderly people.
