Republic Day with Underprivileged Children






On the occasion of 70th Republic day of India, the Interact club of our school took an initiative to invite the children of the construction site workers  for the celebration, to make them aware about the importance of Republic day and the rich history of our mother nation. The event commenced with flag hoisting and national anthem followed by a melodious song by the school choir. The children enjoyed the patriotic dance performance a lot and were very happy to watch the whole program. They whole heartedly listened to the poem and the speech presented by the students and  were very moved to know about varied history of their country. They were invited on the stage and were extended a heartiest welcome by our principal Ms. Monika Mehan. They were provided with refreshments. At the end of the day it was their heartwarming smiles that motivated us to take more such initiatives ahead. Our principal appreciated the initiative and the zealous efforts of the interactors in making this event a success

RYLA 2019







RYLA – Rotary Youth Leadership Assembly, is an annual event for rotaractors , interactors and Rotarians organised to instill leadership qualities in the youth .
6 interactors from ML Khanna DAV Public School got an incredible opportunity to attend RYLA 2019 held at G L Bajaj institute of Management and Technology, Greater Noida. Three days spent in the event were awe-inspiring for the students and made them realise their role and importance as interactors. The event commenced with flag hoisting followed by an opening ceremony. Mr Suresh Srinivasan, a renowned motivational speaker, was the guest of honor for the ceremony. He filled the interactors and rotaractors with zeal and enthusiasm for the next three phenomenal days. The box of surprises opened with a wonderful DJ night with Julia Bliss. The musical night was followed by a day brimming with fun filled activities starting from various sports events like athletics, tug of war, tic-tac toe, ping pong etc. Enchanting melodies were heard during the karaoke showcasing vocational skills of the interactors and Rotarians. A team bonding activity was held to promote team-spirit by games like treasure hunt and escape game. A Halloween theme party was held where the interactors and rotaracters , in very beautiful outfits , walked on the ramp during the fashion show. The marvelous night came to an end with a hilarious movie being projected. The third and the last day started with full doses of laughter by the stand up comedians .There was also a mind reading session by hypnotist Mr Ravindra Sharma emphasizing on the need to lead a stress free life . The three exhilarating days came to an end with the closing and prize distribution ceremony. The event lived up to its motto of  promoting leadership skills and helped in boosting the confidence of the interactors . The memories of three well spent days will always be cherished by the students in their heart.

Woolen Donation Campaign







As winters are already here, the Interact Club of our school tried to provide the much-required warmth and cheer to those who are under privileged. The students brought woollens from their homes which were in good condition.
The donated clothes were packed and given to the labourer’s children who are involved in construction work near the school. The interactors also visited the slum areas where they brought out smiles on the faces of the slum dwellers by gifting them the woollens.

A Fund Raiser for a Cause



The Interact Club Of our school collected funds for the Veteran’s India martyr’s fund. Veteran’s India provides financial support to Martyr’s families. It’s a non-profit organization which strives for providing support to those who serve our country and relentlessly work to provide a safe environment for us to live in. The students actively participated by trying to convince people to donate for a noble cause. They spread the message to their parents, relatives and friends and got the much-needed donation for this issue.
The school teachers and students were also motivated to donate generously. The school saw the much-needed participation by everyone. The fundraiser was indeed a success and an amount of  around Rs. 1, 40,000/- was contributed and donated to Veterans India for the support to Martyr’s families.

Interact video Contest





The interact Club of our school participated in the World Interact Video Contest. The students tried their level best to culminate all that they did for the betterment of the society in the form of a three-minute video. They showcased their little efforts through which they tried to make a difference.
The video currently ranks at 12th position. The interactors spread the message about the top ten things about interact that they admire. The whole contest was a fun experience which made them learn a lot about interact. It made them think about all that they do and how their endeavors matter.

Street Play by Salaam Baalak trust






The interactors of our school got the opportunity to witness a street play- “Street Dreams” held by Salaam Balak Trust at the LTG Auditorium, Mandi house. Our club has long been associated with Salaam Balak Trust which works for the welfare of the underprivileged kids. A large number of school students graced the events. The event began with a dance performance. There was also a play

performed by students of the organization. The play highlighted a sentimental issue and was funny as well as emotional. The story revolved around kids who get separated from their parents and how they survive in this world.
The various scenarios corresponded strongly with what we see every day in our life. The play gave the message to help kids to attain knowledge to get a chance for a better life. The students got the message that strong grit and determination will help you survive in this world. Moreover, they learnt about the woes and problems of what homeless children have to face.
It was indeed a learning experience and the students got to know about the various facets of life.

     Workshop on Cervical Cancer Awareness








 An informative workshop was held for the girls of classes 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th on cervical Cancer Awareness. A resource person came from the Indian Cancer Society to enlighten the girls about one of the most common yet curable forms of cancer that women around the country suffer from. She began by talking about Cancer and its causes in the contemporary society. It was a detailed workshop focusing on the various kinds of cancers and then she talked in detail about Cervical and Breast Cancers.
The girls were told about a number of ways to prevent the occurrence if cancers, especially focusing on diet and proper exercise. At the end the girls were also given pamphlets talking about self- examination and necessary precautions. The workshop was very enlightening, and the students learned a lot from it.
