organises
10 days Self Defence Training Camp for Girls
in
association with Delhi Police
With an aim to instil
confidence and empower girls by training them in the art of self-defence, the
Interact Club of M L Khanna DAV Public School, Dwarka organised a 10 days self
defence training camp for the girls of classes 6 to 10.
The self-defence training
experts from Delhi Police demonstrated how to best tackle knife attackers, acid
throwers, molesters, snatchers, etc.
Girls received intense
training in various techniques which focused on incapacitating the attacker.
They were trained to handle
incidents of stalking, purse snatching, pick-pocketing and harassment.
The training went on for around
one hour daily for 10 days, and it was free of charge. Around 150 girls
participated in this camp. The girls also received certificates of
participation on the last day of the camp.
Principal Ms. Monika Mehan
thanked Delhi Police officials for equipping girls with techniques to protect
themselves from criminals or attackers in times of danger. The camp was
successful in raising self-confidence and empowering girls to face any adverse
situation.
