Self Defence Training Camp

organises 10 days Self Defence Training Camp for Girls
in association with Delhi Police
With an aim to instil confidence and empower girls by training them in the art of self-defence, the Interact Club of M L Khanna DAV Public School, Dwarka organised a 10 days self defence training camp for the girls of classes 6 to 10.
The self-defence training experts from Delhi Police demonstrated how to best tackle knife attackers, acid throwers, molesters, snatchers, etc.
Girls received intense training in various techniques which focused on incapacitating the attacker.
They were trained to handle incidents of stalking, purse snatching, pick-pocketing and harassment.
The training went on for around one hour daily for 10 days, and it was free of charge. Around 150 girls participated in this camp. The girls also received certificates of participation on the last day of the camp.
Principal Ms. Monika Mehan thanked Delhi Police officials for equipping girls with techniques to protect themselves from criminals or attackers in times of danger. The camp was successful in raising self-confidence and empowering girls to face any adverse situation.

In continuation with the ongoing project to empower girls of orphanage, this year too the Interact Club of M.L. Khanna D A V. Public School, Dwarka invited girls from Udaan- Rose Home(Salaam Baalak Trust) in a pursuit of spreading smiles and cheer in their lives. The lovely angels aged between 9 and 16 years of age visited the school on 9th February 2018 and seemed full of enthusiasm for all the events that were awaiting them.
Girls were warmly welcomed by the students of the Interact Club. The day started with a havan with the girls which was also attended by the girls of the Interact Club. Principal Monika Mehan showered them with flower petals and blessed them with her loving and encouraging words. The Interactors socialised with them and got to know them better during breakfast. Afterwards the girls had a fun time indulging in activities like lemon spoon race and musical chairs. The winners were felicitated. As a contribution towards empowering girl child, they were given digital training by the Interactors and IT teachers. A fun filled sculpture workshop was also organised for them in which they made models with clay to take back as mementos. Their talent and creativity was well expounded with beautiful sculptors made by them.
The girls were given scrumptious lunch which was lovingly served to them by the students. It was indeed wonderful and heartwarming sight to see those girls connect with our students during lunch and share their feelings. They could find happiness in this world despite all the challenges they had faced. They were also given gift hampers of stationery materials and utility items which were arranged with the funds contributed by the Interactors. The girls thoroughly enjoyed themselves and thanked the school for making their visit memorable.
 It was indeed a pleasurable experience for students that'd last them a lifetime. Students shared that true happiness hidden in these experiences outweigh the pleasures of materialistic possession


Annual Voluntary Blood Donation Camp

The school has always played a pivotal role in organising several community service events with the aim of spreading awareness related to important social issues and lending a helping hand to the society.
Human blood is one of the most precious gifts a human being can give to another.  If someone really loves oneself and other fellow beings, voluntary blood donation is an exemplary method to express it.
Keeping the same objective in mind, the Interact Club of M L Khanna DAV Public School, Dwarka organised a blood donation camp on 3rd February 2018 in the school premises in association with Armed Forces Transfusion Centre and Veterans India. Armed forces Transfusion Centre, Delhi Cantt which is the largest blood bank of the Indian Army and a premier institute in the field of Transfusion Medicine catering to the blood requirement of Army personnel and their families. Veterans India is an organization of All India ex service men which works to inculcate patriotism, nationalism and integrity amongst citizens in general and youth and children in particular.
77 units of blood were collected in the camp. Parents, teachers and the other members of the school came forward in giving the gift of life to the sentinels of our nation.
The event was graced by Col H V Sharma and Col B K Mishra from Veterans India. The presence of Rtn. V K Jain and Rtn V K Bansal from the parent club of the Interact club of our school also added grandeur to the occasion. The guests applauded the noble initiative of the club and remarked that the team spirit and motivation among the teachers and students was commendable.
The camp was organised in a very disciplined and meticulous manner. A medical examination was conducted for volunteers before blood donation. Refreshments were provided to the donors after donating blood
A signature campaign was also carried out where everyone expressed their feelings by penning down their thoughts and ideas for the cause.
Principal Monika Mehan commended the zeal and enthusiasm of the Interactors towards community service and congratulated the Interact team for accomplishing the task successfully.

To inculcate the spirit of stepping forward for the life saving cause of blood donation, the Interact Club of  M L Khanna DAV Public School, Dwarka organized a poster making activity with blood donation as its central theme.The event was conducted on 20th January 2018 as a prelude to the Blood Donation Camp which will be organized in the school on 3rd February 2018.
 The event saw highly enthusiastic participation of the Intercators and succeeded greatly in achieving its aim of instilling the noble belief as the participants came up with highly artistic and inspiring posters. This was done to sensitise them towards the importance of donating blood, to learn to enrich their own lives by giving it meaning and purpose through selfless service. The students were motivated to carry across the message to their parents and the society at large to donate blood and save precious lives.










Interact Club pays Tribute to Soldiers


Interactors pay Tribute to Soldiers

The Interact Club of M L Khanna DAV Public School organized a special assembly to pay tribute to the Indian Army, a salute to all men and women who courageously  fight to provide peace and  security to the common man of the nation.
An informative speech was delivered by an interactor to widen the knowledge of students about the services and contribution of our soldiers. A song in Hindi sung by a student reminded everyone of the role played by our soldiers in all adversities at the borders.
A quiz on the theme of the assembly was also conducted for students
A mesmerising patriotic dance performance was presented by the NCC cadets of the school. We feel proud in telling that some of the NCC girl cadets are the students of Interact Club.
The assembly truly highlighted the spirit of valour and sacrifice made by the soldiers. It sensitised the students to remember and appreciate the contribution of the courageous Indian Army in protecting our nation.









Interactors attend RYLA 2018







Interactors participate in RYLA 2018

6 students of M L Khanna DAV Public School, Dwarka participated in  RYLA 2018 at O P Jindal University from 21st January to 23rd January 2018. Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) is a leadership development program run by Rotary for secondary school students, university students and young professionals.
The three days leadership camp provided a range of activities for students covering areas like leadership skills, team building activities and motivational sessions from various renowned motivational speakers. Importance of communication skills in positive leadership was also highlighted by the guest speakers. The events included presentations, activities, and workshops that covered a variety of topics, including leadership fundamentals, ethics and communication skills.
There were entertainment and sports events designed to develop bonds of friendship and bonhomie amongst the participants and build long lasting relationships. Intercators won prizes in sports activities there. They also participated in lots of fun filled activities like Cinema-50 shades of the Bollywood fashion Show and DJ night on the theme ‘Comicon’ was enjoyed by everyone.
 The programme was successful in enhancing self confidence and self esteem of the students. Principal Monika Mehan appreciated the zealous participation of students in the event.
