Anti Cracker Rally

Interact Club of DAV Dwarka organizes Anti Cracker Rally




The Interact Club of DAV Public School, Dwarka organized an Anti-Cracker Rally to spread awareness about the harmful effects of bursting crackers.

 The rally was flagged off from the school amidst lots of cheer and applause by Dr. B.C. Sabata, Senior Scientific Officer, Department of Environment, Govt. of NCT of Delhi., Dr. Ashish Shah, an associate of Wipro earthian programme , Ms. Kavita Singh from Navdanya, school manager Ms. Adarsh Kohli and  school Principal Ms. Monika Mehan.

The rally led by the green band of the school covered the surrounding areas of the school. Students holding placards, flags and banners shouted slogans conveying the message of celebrating cracker free Diwali .

A street play was also presented by the students of classes 6 to 10 in Dwarka Sector-6 market highlighting the hazardous effects of crackers and the plight of children working in the cracker industry. The rally came to an end at the school.


As a prelude to the rally, a placard making activity was conducted for the Interact Club students. Students made beautiful placards with messages of celebrating cracker free and smoke free Diwali.



Before the rally, a programme was organized in the school in which students of class X gave a dance performance. A skit on ‘Say No to Crackers’ was presented by the students of classes 6 to 10.

Dr. B.C. Sabata administered a pledge to the students on not using crackers and celebrating a safe and pollution free Diwali. 

School manager Ms. Adarsh Kohli addressed the gathering and appreciated the efforts of school in the direction of celebrating green Diwali.

Polio Awareness Rally

With an aim to fulfill Rotary’s vision and give future generations a world free from the vicious disease of polio, the students of the Interact Club of DAV Dwarka participated in the Polio Awareness Rally on 28th October 2015, organised by the Rotary club of Delhi to celebrate World Polio Day 2015. The rally flagged off from Adarsh World School, Dwarka amidst a lot of cheer and applause. Students from different schools from all parts of Delhi participated in the rally. All the eminent Rotarians elucidated the school children gathered there about the importance of eradicating polio from the roots to give India a polio free status. Students also took pledge to eliminate polio.





The rally was led by a lively band and distinguished guests from WHO and UNICEF riding on the backs of camels and elephants. Students wore Rotary caps and aprons conveying the message “Keep India Polio Free”. They carried flags, placards and banners and marched through the roads of Dwarka, enthusiastically shouting slogans on eradication of polio. The rally was well escorted by the Rotary Club members. Proper arrangements of water, ambulance and police were there for the smooth conduct of the rally. The rally ended at the host school. The President of the club thanked the students for their zealous participation in the rally .Refreshments were provided to the participants.

Installation Ceremony of the Interact Club
and
Free Dental Checkup Camp

The Interact Club of DAV Public School, Dwarka, organized the Installation Ceremony and Free Dental Checkup Camp on Saturday, 10th October 2015.





A week prior to the Dental Checkup Camp, a multitude of activities were scheduled to sensitize the students about the significance of maintaining oral hygiene and the benefits of
getting their teeth checked regularly. Videos pertaining to method of proper brushing , food which is good and bad for teeth and consequences of neglecting  dental hygiene,  were shown to the children of Pre School, Pre Primary and  classes I to V. A Colouring Activity was arranged for little ones. Students of classes IV and V participated in a written quiz.






A special assembly was coordinated for students of classes V to X by the members of the Club. They performed a skit emphasizing the importance of dental health, delivered a speech on it and also organized a very interesting and lively quiz to raise awareness about the same among the children. Toothbrushes were given as prizes for the correct answers. The club members prepared power point presentation on the topic.


  





On Saturday, 10th October 2015, the Investiture Ceremony of the Club initiated with the welcome of the Rotarians of the sponsor club of the Interact Club of our school - Rotary Club of Delhi Uptown. The Principal of the school presented each of them a potted plant along with a gift specially prepared by members of ‘Sparklers’- the Art Club of the school. The ceremonial lamp was lit amidst the chanting of the ‘Gayatri Mantra’.  In her welcome address Principal Monika Mehan, thanked the Rotarians for sparing their time to grace the occasion.
The school choir presented a touching rendition of ‘Saraswati Vandana.

 Rotarian Harshvardhan Arya, President – Rotary Club of Delhi Uptown blessed the students, apprised them of the principles of Rotary and motivated the young interactors to selflessly serve the community. 



The president of the Interact Club, Kanika Thapliyal enlightened the gathering about  the club activities of last session and  the future plans. 





The members of the ‘Kala Sangam’ performed a dance recital depicting an India which is free from all social evils.








 The newly inducted members were pinned badges by the Rotarians. 


 A vote of thanks was given by the Teacher In charge of the Club.



A free dental checkup was conducted in the mobile dental van from 9.30 am to 2 pm. in the school premises on the same day. Around hundred people got their teeth checked. A signature campaign was also carried out. The response to the camp was tremendous.

"YUV-VAANI"-DILA 2015

Interact Club Students attend DILA 2015




The Interact Club students of DAV Dwarka attended “YUV-VAANI”-DILA 2015 organised by Rotary Club of Ghaziabad Royal on 8th September 2015 at Amity University Noida. The event helped the Interactors to understand their roles and responsibility. Interact Club members and their guides got the opportunity to get groomed to take up responsibilities in their own clubs and subsequently, in the Rotary movement and also meet with other Interact Club Members and Rotarians to do fellowship and networking. They also learned to handle issues which are a challenge to the society from the experienced faculty from the Rotary world.

The Chief Guest for the event was Dr. Ashok Chauhan, Chairman,AKC Group of Companies and Founder President, Ritnand Balved Education Foundation.He motivated the students to have a mission in life and strive to achieve it.


 Major General Pramod Sehgal,renowned motivational speaker and counselor inspired the Interactors to possess leadership qualities and dream big to achieve big.

 Distt Governor J.K. Gaur and Past Distt. Governor Ramesh Aggarwal briefed the Interact Club Members about the rules and responsibilities of the club.

There were cultural presentations by the Interact Club members of various schools. Award winning videos of Interact Video Contest were also shown. The grand event culminated with the vote of thanks by the Distt. Governor Elect Rotarian Sharad Jain.

Intercity on New Generations

Interact Club Students attend Intercity on New Generations




The Interact Club of DAV Dwarka got the privilege to attend ‘Intercity on New Generations’ , a meeting of the Rotaractors and the Interactors of Delhi and NCR at Amity University, Noida on 7th August 2015. 






The meeting was presided over by Sh. K.Ravindram, Rotary International President.

A PowerPoint presentation prepared by the Interact Club of Baroda was shown depicting the efforts of the Interactors in their area. Rtn. J.K.Gaur gave highlights of the activities undertaken by the Interact and the Rotaract clubs of Delhi and NCR. Vanshika Sehdev of Bal Bharti Public School, Pitampura was applauded for making an adult literate in just 45 days. A skit ‘A Grandmother’s Tale’ on the theme Adult Literacy was presented by the Rotaractors.  Dr. Aseem Chauhan, VC, Amity University, Rajasthan also shared his vision to change the world and make the society a better place. 




K.Ravindram, Rotary International President motivated the Interactors and the Rotaractors to strive to be perfect. He gave six rules which one should follow to lead an upright life. He emphasized on the point that ‘This is our life, be a gift to the world.’ Rtn. J.K.Gaur presented memento to K.R.Ravindram . The meeting ended with exchange of ideas with the Rotarians.
