Interact Club, DAV Dwarka
A new dimension was added to DAV Dwarka with the formal
installation of the Interact Club of the school. The Investiture Ceremony of
the Interact Club of DAV Dwarka was held on 30 July 2014.The ceremony commenced
with the welcome of Rotarians of the Rotary Club of Delhi Uptown, the sponsor
club. DAV Dwarka being an environmentally conscious school, feted the guests
with Tulsi plants. Prof. Rajendra Pal, LMC member of the school and Principal
Ms. Monika Mehan did the honours. The lighting of the ceremonial lamp
accompanied by the chants of ‘Asto Ma Sadgamaya’ created an auspicious aura.
Principal madam in her welcome address expressed heartfelt gratitude
to the guests for sparing their valuable time to attend
the function and making the day memorable for school by their distinguished
presence. She gave special thanks to Rotarian V.K. Jain for mentoring the club.
The Junior Choir group of the school gave a heart warming
presentation of the song ‘Managalam Swagatam’. Rotarian P.K Gupta Immediate
Past President of the Rotary Club of Delhi Uptown apprised the gathering of the
objectives of the Rotary Club and the Four Way Test. Rotarian Niharika Rathi,
President of Rotary Club, Delhi Uptown motivated the Interactors with her
inspiring words. She also praised the efforts of the Principal, school and the
club members for organising an impressive Induction Ceremony. The President of
District Interact Club R.Tn Prashant Sahgal gave
an insight into various activities carried out by the
Interact Clubs of schools in Delhi and NCR. The Senior Girls received a
standing ovation for their enthralling fusion dance recital, an amalgamation of
Bharatnatyam, Kathak and Odissi.The dance was an ode to Lord Ganesha invoking his
blessings. Students of classes V to X delivered a soul stirring rendition of
the song ‘I Have a Dream’. Mayank, the Vice President and Nishant Chahar, the
Secretary of the Interact Club presented a report of the Club’s activities of session
2013-2014, through a comprehensive power point presentation. The teacher member
of the club Ms Pratibha Nagpal shared the future line of action of the club for
this session.
The president of the Interact Club Divya Gavane was
formally installed. She was presented with a charter and a collar. The other
office bearers and the members of the club were pinned badges. It was a solemn
at the same time a touching moment. Prof. Rajender Pal, school’s LMC member in
his vote of thanks congratulated the newly elected members of the club and
advised them to take the responsibility bestowed upon them resolutely. He
inspired the club members to lead a meaningful life and to be strong
foundations of the country. He also thanked the guests for encouraging the Interactors
and boosting their morale.
As token of appreciation and gratitude for gracing the
occasion, the guests were gifted hand- made paintings prepared by the student
members of the ‘Sparklers’- the art club of the school. The programme concluded
with Shanti Path, in keeping with the DAV tradition.
